Now Offered: Peer Support

December 06, 2021

Family Life Counseling & Psychiatric Services is proud to announce our new Peer Recovery Support Program, in partnership with the Ohio START Program. Through this partnership, we are able to support individuals in reaching their individualized goals. The mission of this program is to further support family, love, and redemption.

Family Life Counseling and Psychiatric Services have been proudly providing substance use treatment for over ten years. Our evidence-based program focuses on individual strengths of our clients and has proven to be effective in assisting clients to meet their short-term and long-term goals. By utilizing peer support recovery professionals, individuals within services have been shown to experience fewer hospital stays, larger support networks, improved self esteem, and established social skills.

Peer Recovery Support Professionals are individuals in recovery who have been able to take their lived experiences of substance use to help others in similar circumstances. These individuals have been able to maintain their own active recovery, as well as provide others a unique perspective and the ability to emphasize with those in treatment. Peer Recovery Support is able to assist individuals with a variety of needs, including navigating resources, coordinating support providers, and promoting the framework that recovery is possible.

If you have questions about services or are interested in accessing recovery support, please contact the Director of Peer Services, Brychelle Mullins, LCDC II, PRS, at (419) 774-9969.
