MANSFIELD - Family Life Counseling and Psychiatric Services has invited the community to a free forum: “Raising the Bottom: Community Forum.” The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 in the auditorium at Mansfield Senior High.

The event will feature educational speakers to discuss the current, local addiction epidemic, as well as providing simple and effective action steps for families and friends in need. The forum will include local poets, multiple testimonials and a musician. Educational speakers will be Dr. Joseph Bocka, Lt. Joseph Petrycki and Dr. Steven Burggraf

The forum will feature the release of two new programs:

• The Addict’s Family and Friends: a citizen action group designed to educate, equip and empower those who are striving for change in their home and in their community

• Addiction Intervention: an eight-step program designed for families and friends who strive for the well-being of their addicted loved one. Richland County Mental Health & Addiction Services Board has allocated funds for the first 100 interventions.
